Skate Report, Virgin Skate 5 June 2002 Bill & I were unavoidably later than usual tonight and had to forgo the run to Mrs Macquaries Chair but we were able to catch up on your return.

It was good to see so many faces out on a State of Origin night and also to see the return of some "who should be more regular" regulars. Tonight was also Damien's last night for some time as he has now left the country (was it something I said ?).

As David had already warmed up the group after a short equipment symposium we were off to Hyde Park for one of the great zig zags that David is renowned for. After Hyde Park the night got very disjointed (for me anyway) and we did lots of standing around. After a quick trip through Pitt St Mall we skated up into Martin Place for a play on the steps and some great jumping from Damien (see the mpg in the images). From here we skated towards Circular Quay and stopped for a drink stop when Phil T found out he had ripped his skate frame from his boot. With careful practising he felt he would be able to continue on one foot but David was able to temporarily fit the frame back on the boot (although a bit wobbly) and we were able to continue.

Around the Quay and under the bridge to the Ski Hill where the adventurous had more than one run and everyone went from the top of the hill to the Rocks for a quick run down George St. There is an interesting speed bump down here. Just as you get through the traffic & start to pick up a bit of speed this speed hump looms up at you. You think, that's alright I'll just run over it, then you realise it has old cobblestones (that weren't made for skating on) at the front & back so you have to do a double hop "kind of thing" to get over it. I hope nobody came to grief here.

It was just a quick run down to the Ship Inn from here and even though it seems we didn't go far the night had run away once again.

It was good to see everybody out on a coldish State of Origin night and nice to see some new Virgins.

Hope you all had a good time and we see you back soon.

Sorry for the short & disjointed report. I think I got lost somewhere.

Keep Skating

Web site Design and Data based Features by IT3.com.au

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
