A new first for City Skate I have been away on Holidays for the last 2 weeks and last Wed was my first night back and my 3rd skate since my grinding stack (my foot is still swollen and sore).

We went on a great first for Sydney Bladers.

We skated over the Harbour Bridge and up Miller St at Nth Sydney to St Leonards Park. Then it was over to Neutral Bay where many suggestions to stop at the Oaks for a drink were ignored (luckily B4 the great downhill). We then skated down to Wycombe Rd and debated which of the downhills was going to be the best. Greg said that of the 3 streets Wycombe, Ben Boyd and Bent, Ben Boyd was the fastest and smoothest so even though Bent is one way and a very steep downhill we concurred to Gregs local knowledge and took the fast Ben Boyd road. At the bottom we waited until we had the lights with us and a break in the traffic then we headed down Kurraba Road around Anderson Park and just a little uphill back to Kirribilli where once again calls to stop for a cleansing ale were ignored. There was a little debate whether to take the run down to Luna Park but as the time was getting on the decision was made to go straight over the bridge to the Ski hill. Shaun and Chris decided they couldn't let a good opportunity go past and took of down the Luna hill and caught up to the tail enders (me) before halfway back over the bridge. After a quick water stop at Observatory Hill a couple of die-hards took off down the ski hill just as a Police Car turned off the bridge and followed them down. Expecting to see a lecture on road safety being held at the bus terminus the rest of us cautiously ventured down and when there were no flashing red and blue lights at the bottom threw all caution to the wind for the last downhill. After a run up the steps and another downhill run it was off to the Ship Inn pub for a very warm welcome and a well deserved drink.

Many thanks to David (Tingbot - or whatever) for another first for Sydney Bladers.

I am still interested in trying the Bent St downhill.

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
