Skate Report Wed 12 October 2005

With the weather forecast for a possible shower and things looking cloudy, cool and windy, only a small group rolled up. Would it be a normal skate? not really. Would it be the usual toddle round town in these weather conditions? No! It would be the first ever vanskate - that way if it did rain we could always just drive back. And a good excuse to do some great hills of course!!

Eastern suburbs was the area and first up was a few runs down Wentworth Road, Vaucluse, 1km of smooth windy road of a pleasantly moderate pitch, if a little dark for some. We then did a shorter run (Fitzwilliam rd) round the corner, followed by Heartbreak hill of city to surf fame. While a little rough in places, this was the only hill of the night with a tailwind and was a blast, enjoyed by all.

Next up was Macpherson st/Bronte rd, done once previously on cityskate and a fantastic hill, very quick down the bottom. After a few runs there we had a short run down Arden rd and then a long cruisy run down Clovelly rd. Last, as it was getting late, was a few runs down Alison rd. This was a lot of fun as well, and again quite fast down the bottom.

While we've had a few van assisted skates before, this was the first total van skate - thanks Bill. While I think a few people missed the usual work out, it was great fun and a good way to get to a few places that its difficult to on a normal cityskate.

Thanks Sean for a great report. There are 7 Photos for this skate. All are linked to Chicken Littles report #256 and are in the images section

Remember I promise to put up some photos for anyone who writes a skate report.

Are you READY??

Get Ready for the
5th Annual
Biggest City Skate EVER !

Wednesday 2 Nov 2005 is the date to put into your diaries to get your dancing skates out and get your friends revved up ready to go. Don't forget to make sure all your gear is working before the night.

Lets see if we can get a bigger turn out than last year (135 or so skaters). Maybe we can get over 200 this year. We should be able to do that if everyone brings along a couple of friends.

To all of you who used to come into the City regularly for a City Skate now is the time to check your gear and come along to say hello to your skating mates. We would really love to see you there.

As with all Virgin Nights if it rains the Biggest City Skate - EVER! will be postponed until the next fine Wed.

Friday Night Sydney Skate

Don't forget Friday Nights "Friday Night Sydney Skate" it is held every Friday Night.
Meet at Circular Quay near the Manly Ferry exit. Meet at 8:00pm and skate until 10:00pm.

This skate is a social skate and entry level to the usual Sydney Bladers Virgin Skate so if you are unsure how well you can skate, or stop, this will be the skate to go & practice before you venture out on a Sydney Bladers City Skate.

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
