Wed 7 September 2005 Skate Report Skate Report Wed 7 September 2005

The first Wednesday of the month meant it was time for a little virgin But after arriving at the Land Titles building and having a quick squiz... not a virgin in sight. George skated up accompanied by Bradley and his in-line posse and slowly but surely a heap of the usual suspects materialized out of the beautiful Sydney night air.

Departure occurred around 9:30 led by David, the most experienced skate wrangler this side of the Equator. Without any virgins to slow us down we skipped the usual chase through The pathways of Hyde park and got right into and onto the footpaths and Streets of the CBD. David had a great little course planned which found us travelling through some familiar City Skate terrain but with enough twists and alternate routes to keep it fresh and interesting. As we made our way into Pyrmont and began our descent down Bulwara road, George commented "that's where I first met Johnny." I asked, "was he singing?" Ten doll hairs awarded to the first person guessing the correct answer. Hint: For the last six months people in France have been saying "Fermer la bouche!"

From there it was on to the ski hill for a traditional run or two then back to the CBD via Pyrmont Bridge. A few of us did a couple Wynyard runs and then over to the Forbes Hotel for what we thought would be a cleansing ale but alas another pub we've been banished from. I could count on both hands the number of places we've been regular patrons of only to find one Wednesday we're GONE! It's a familiar pattern. Some undiscerning Manager welcomes the novelty and hard cash of an enthusiastic group of well Wheeled folks and then one day is replaced by someone who's fully aware of how quickly a license or indeed a whole place can be lost to liability insurance claims. Perhaps we'll have to bring eskies and have a quiet one in the street as we take off our skates.

Are you READY??

Get Ready for the
5th Annual
Biggest City Skate EVER !

Wednesday 2 Nov 2005 is the date to put into your diaries to get your dancing skates out and get your friends revved up ready to go. Don't forget to make sure all your gear is working before the night.

Lets see if we can get a bigger turn out than last year (135 or so skaters). Maybe we can get over 200 this year. We should be able to do that if everyone brings along a couple of friends.

To all of you who used to come into the City regularly for a City Skate now is the time to check your gear and come along to say hello to your skating mates. We would really love to see you there.

As with all Virgin Nights if it rains the Biggest City Skate - EVER! will be postponed until the next fine Wed.

Friday Night Sydney Skate
Don't forget Friday Nights "Friday Night Sydney Skate" it is held every Friday Night.
Meet at Circular Quay near the Manly Ferry exit. Meet at 8:00pm and skate until 10:00pm.

This skate is a social skate and entry level to the usual Sydney Bladers Virgin Skate so if you are unsure how well you can skate, or stop, this will be the skate to go & practice before you venture out on a Sydney Bladers City Skate.

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
