Biggest City Skate EVER !

Wow! how good was it to see such a great group of skaters turn out for our 3rd Annual (12th Anniversary) Biggest City Skate - EVER!.
We had a group of 158-160 skaters and only just beat the last years record. It was great to see some faces in the crowd that hadn't been on a skate for some time. Welcome back we hope this reignited your feel for City Skate.

With a quick talk to everyone David took off to pick up Bill who was still distributing skates to the latecomers and then it was off to Hyde Park where we didn't stop until the start of Oxford St but that was quickly broken up with a couple of undercover police trying to infiltrate our tight group. We headed straight to the Pitt St Mall and didn't stop here but kept going straight through to Martin Place and around to Angel Place. We then skated down to Circular Quay and around to the bottom of the Ski Hill where those who wanted a quick downhill run were able to get in a quick blast to feed the need.

From here we skated straight around Sussex St to King St Wharf and a quick drink stop. As it was too early to stop for the night and without much of a stop David headed around Darling Harbour to Pyrmont Bridge and this is where most got lost and headed up the escalator to the Bridge while David went straight around to the Exhibition Centre. I followed the lost group up to Pyrmont Bridge and halfway across passed David & his group heading back towards the Cargo Bar for the end of the night.

At the end of Pyrmont Bridge there was still a fairly large group who were keen to get a run down the Casino Hill. After a couple of runs down the hill we all made our way back to the waiting crowd at the Cargo Bar.

Tonight was a bit quicker than suggested but everyone seemed able to keep up. I hope you all had a fun night.

Thanks to everyone for coming along and making this a great night. It was especially nice to see those faces we hadn't seen for quite a while (maybe now you remember what fun it is to skate through the City at night and come back a bit more often). To everyone who came along for the first time tonight I hope you enjoyed yourselves and plan to come back again soon. We are always happy to meet new skaters and show them parts of Sydney you wouldn't usually get to see.

If you only have one skate a year make sure it is The Biggest City Skate - EVER!

Keep skating

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
