Skate Report Wed 29 Oct 2003

There was a small group here tonight probably because Bill & I arrived on time. We had a visitor from The Friday Night Amsterdam Skate, Maurice who we wanted to show the lights of Sydney & some nice hills. Sorry we missed the lights.

We skated down to the Palace Gates to pick up any stragglers & then back up to the Domain where we had a run down to Mrs Macquaries Chair and a long forgotten Grass Ride. We had to skate back up to the Art Gallery because the "Girls" decided to wait it out rather than take on the dark road.

Back at the Art Gallery we regrouped and then took off down over the roof tops to Woolloomooloo and a run along the Wave. Back at Harrys Cafe de Wheels we then climbed the stairs to Kings Cross and skirted around the back along Victoria St. Sean once again came to the fore and lead us up to Oxford St where he had in mind a run down to Rushcutters Bay. What a fun run and at the bottom we skated over to the steps leading back up to Kings Cross. At the top of the steps I thought "that was pretty easy why don't we do it again?" but I was misled we still had a hard slog uphill to get to Darlinghurst Road and the Alemein Fountain.

We skated down Darlinghurst Rd to William St where I had in mind a parrallel run down some back streets and back up to Oxford St and Foveaux St but got mixed up & zigged when I should have zagged and missed the run downhill.

It all seems a bit of a blur from here and people were getting lost from all around us. We got a run down Foveaux and through the Central Tunnel and hoped to try the Opera House again but time got away & we ended up making our own ways back to the cars.

Thanks Sean for leading us to some great hills again (I am hanging out to try Balmain Shores again) anytime you have somewhere in mind please speak up.

Next week is The BIGGEST City Skate - EVER! so I hope you have all your friends fired up ready for a great City Skate. Hasen't that come up quickly?

Hope to see you all next week.

Keep skating.

Don't forget Friday Night Sydney Skate for an easy City Skate experience.

Get Ready for the
3rd Annual
Biggest City Skate EVER !

Wednesday 5 Nov 2003 is the date to put into your diaries and get your friends revved up ready to go. Don't forget to make sure all your gear is working before the night.

Lets see if we can get a bigger turn out than last year (151 skaters). Maybe we can get over 200 this year. It should be a cinch if we can get 75 for a normal Virgin Skate.

To all of you who used to come into the City regularly for a City Skate now is the time to check your gear and come along to say hello to your skating mates. We would really love to see you there.

As with all Virgin Nights if it rains the Biggest City Skate - EVER! will be postponed until the next fine Wed.

Friday Night Sydney Skate
Don't forget Friday Nights "Friday Night Sydney Skate" it is held every Friday Night.

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
