Friday Night Sydney Skate 28 Feb 2003

This Friday night skate was special on 2 accounts, first, it didn't rain, that may not seem a big deal now but all afternoon it looked like it would absolutely pour. Second we reached new heights in terms of the youngest skater to skate on a city skate, that record goes out to 4 year old Kye Gordon who powered along for nearly 2 hours. What is even more interesting is that he and his 6 year old brother Troy stayed at the front of the pack the whole night. Of course the honourable mention has to go to 2 year old Luke Coogan who is now almost a veteran of the Friday night skate. More proof of what a fantastic family event this skate night can be. Luke has some advantage as he is pushed in a stroller by his dad Ben. It turned out to be a beautiful warm and mostly still night that was perfect for the Friday night crowd. I'm not sure why but lots of people were running late, we got going by about 8:30 and did the traditional waterfront cruise all the way around to Darling Harbour but this time we returned via Kent street with a bit of exploring done along the way. Congratulations go out to our new skaters last night, Warren from NZ who will be here for another year thanks to a work posting, Claudia from Germany who is not only very beautiful but an excellent skater, and an equally attractive Selina who was checking out the skate with a notion of bringing her children along. It was great to see Phil go head over heels helping Selina perfect her stopping technique. (he's a great guy isn't he...) All in all a fantastic Friday night and the skaters who braved what seemed to be a certain wash out were handsomely rewarded.

Thanks for coming...

Web site Design and Data based Features by

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
