Skate Report Virgin Skate Wed 3 July 2002 The cold is starting to come out after dark now but that didn't stop the hearty skaters who were ready for a good Virgin Skate tonight. It was great to see such a good turn up. David was not here due to work commitments and both Ryan & Bill were vying for the lead.

We took off to the testing ground at the Art Gallery and after a few runs around here, and a run around Mrs Macquaries Chair for the energetic, we left to skate around Hyde Park with a stop at the service van for Will's blown skate.

We skated around Hyde Park, Martin Place, Wynyard & Number 1 York St before heading back up to the Darling Harbour Car Park where we got a couple of very quick runs in. One of the runs I got to do was a fantastic figure 8 down the 2 sets of ramps. Wow wasn't that a great way to skate a car park and the Lift was running back to the top. Bliss

People seemed to be dropping off all over the place and this seems to be the way the skates are going now so everybody should make an effort to keep up. If you get to a catch up stop last you should make sure you leave with the first group off so you're not trying to catch up all the time.

When we got to the top of the Casino Hill I had a special appointment with a huge set of stairs so let the fast runners take off before Ben showed them to me. Here was a set of stairs with 5 lots of 18 steps each. What a shame I still can't ride them. Oh well ! After a couple of attempts and waiting for Will Ben & I took to the ski hill to catch up with everyone at the Pontoon Bar. Ben decided that as we were only 2 we could try the shortcut through the Casino and ended up at the top of Pyrmont Bridge.

Once again I was too late as everyone was leaving the Bar when we got there so home we all went.

It was a bit of a disjointed run tonight probably due to 2 leaders and people lagging way behind. Ryan you can have another lead again soon.

Hope you all had a good skate. See you next week.

Keep skating.

Web site Design and Data based Features by

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
