Wednesday Night Skate:
City Skate is one of the most popular rollerblading / inline skating events in Sydney.

There is no organizing body and it has become a weekly tradition where bladers meet in the city and skate to various places as a group.

There are up to 100 bladers who join the skate. From recreational, freestyle, speed skaters to street skaters, there is a good mix of great people.

The different types of skates we have are:

First Wed of the month is Virgin Skate. This is not a beginners skate but is for those who can skate and would like to join us on a City Skate. It is a more sedate skate along flatter terrain. (If you are not confident about your skating ability consider getting lessons from a certified instructor.)

FORUM / MESSAGEBOARD: To find out what is happening on skates in Sydney check out our forum here.Smile

Each Wed Skate gets progressively harder until the last Wed of the Month which is Mission Skate where we skate to places often not been to before and look for bigger & steeper hills (if you are not sure you can keep up for these make sure you have your bus fare in your pocket).

We may travel up to 15 km however and sometimes top it off with a drink at a pub. Everyone is welcome to join us and we will make you welcome. We strongly suggest you wear protective gear including a helmet and that you are a confident skater able to stop on hills. Also, bring a smile........it is all about fun.

WHERE IS IT?
City Skate meets every Wednesday (weather permitting) at:

The steps of the Land Titles Office (The intersection of Art Gallery Rd. St Mary's Rd. and Prince Albert Rd. opposite Hyde Park)

We meet at about 8.55pm or so and leave at around 9.10pm.

The skate usually lasts about 2.5 hours.

Friday Night Sydney Skate:
Friday Night Skate caters for all standards of skaters and is a little flatter & more casual skate than the Wednesday Night Skate however there are still some hills and if you cannot stop safely on inline skates you may be better off getting a lesson from a certified instructor first. Meet at 8:30pm at Circular Quay in front of the Manly Ferry Wharf.

Sydney Bladers is not run by any one, no one owns it, no one is responsible for it, this web site is designed to help this sorry bunch of bladers who meet up every Wednesday night for a great time, no meeting times are planed by anyone, it is just a freak coincidence that up to 70 people meet up at the same place and time every Wednesday night and head off on the same direction some where around the city for 2 hours.

The web designer of this site (me) is not responsible if you do something stupid because of this web site, if you do I will plead insanity, I have many people on the city skate that will hold proof to this in court if need be. You read this information at your own risk, if you do something stupid then you are an idiot and don't come crying to me about it. If you take this disclaimer too seriously or think its stupid then you have no scene of humor and are probably a very boring person.
